“Crack the Code” on understanding your child’s standardized testing scores

Are you looking for more ways to support your child’s academic needs and strengths? Charlottesville City Schools will offer parents, guardians and caring adults the opportunity to learn more about student assessment reports during its Crack The Code event on Thursday, March 26, from 6-7 p.m. at First Baptist Church (632 West Main Street, Charlottesville)The event will help better educate parents specifically on two types of student assessment reports: 

NWEA MAP Growth Reports: We will walk parents through what the MAP scores mean, how to interpret percentile rankings and growth measures, and how to use the information to understand their child’s academic progress.

SOL (Standards of Learning) Reports: We will explain how to read SOL score reports, what the performance levels represent, and how families can use that information to support their child’s learning moving forward.
